Focusing on wellbeing in the workplace, this course  Management of Secondary Trauma in Organisations equips you with the knowledge and awareness needed to recognise early signs of vicarious trauma. You’ll also gain the tools to effect change within the organisation, whether on a personal or interpersonal level. Strategies for addressing various possibilities will be provided. The primary aim is to reduce the impact of Vicarious Trauma and subsequently promote recovery and resilience.

Key Learning Points

Identification of Secondary Trauma: Participants will learn to recognise and differentiate secondary trauma from other forms of trauma. This includes understanding its impact on individuals and their environment.

Application of Risk-Reducing Strategies: The course offers a range of strategies to minimise risks, not only for individuals experiencing secondary trauma but also for those around them. Practical approaches and preventive measures are emphasised.

Self-Care as an Appropriate Response: Participants will learn to distinguish when self-care is most appropriate in dealing with secondary trauma. This involves understanding personal boundaries, recognising signs of stress, and applying self-care methods to promote resilience.

Recognition of Guided Care and Organisational Support: This course helps identify situations where guided care and organisational support are essential in managing secondary trauma. This includes understanding available support resources and knowing when professional help is needed.
