Safety, connection and sensitivity
All our services promote safety, connection and sensitivity to help organisations build a more resilient, emotionally attuned workforce.
Safety
Feeling safe is essential for our nervous system to function optimally. When we feel safe, our bodies relax, and our nervous systems shift from a state of ‘fight or flight’ to ‘rest and digest’. In an organisational context, safety can mean either physical safety or emotional safety. Therefore when employees feel safe in their workplace, they are more likely to be engaged and productive, and less likely to experience stress or burnout.
Connection
Humans are social beings, thriving on connection with others. Positive social interactions induce our nervous systems to releases oxytocin, a hormone that promotes feelings of trust, bonding, and connection. Moreover, in an organisational context, connection can mean building relationships with colleagues and co-workers, fostering a sense of community and belonging, and creating opportunities for collaboration and teamwork. When employees feel connected to others in their workplace, they are more likely to feel motivated, engaged, and satisfied with their work.
Sensitivity
Interpersonal sensitivity is the ability to be aware of, and responsive to, the emotions and needs of others in social interactions. Being sensitive to others in the workplace can help create a positive, supportive environment, in which employees feel seen, heard, and valued. As a result, when we feel understood and validated by others, our nervous systems can relax, and we are more likely to feel safe and connected.
“By creating a safe, connected, and sensitive environment in your organization, you promote employee well-being and productivity. Fostering interpersonal sensitivity and building positive relationships supports the nervous system and enhances overall health and well-being for both individuals and the organization.”
